Apprenticeship to become a Foreign Language Correspondent
Sales and Marketing placement
Internship of 5 months
My name is Janine Pietzsch and I study economy, English, French and Spanish to become a foreign language correspondent. A placement of at least 20 weeks abroad is part of my apprenticeship I am doing at a private school in Dresden.
AtAuto ID Services Ltd. I work in the International Sales Department and I am responsible for the German Non-Food Market as well as the Danish, Swedish and Finnish markets. I have several ACT-Databases with customers and prospects. I stay in contact with the customers and deal with their orders or problems. Most of the time, I call to prospect new customers, send out information and quotations. I work independently and sometimes I really have to negotiate the prices with my customers. I also attended a Sales Training Course to improve my sales skills, because Martin wants to see results! Furthermore I help in the accounts department to collect the debts.
Although you are under pressure and sometimes you can really get upset because of unfriendly people on the telephone, I enjoy my internship because there are a lot of students from all over Europe working here. During the weekends we go out together or do some sight seeing tours throughout Great Britain.
